ACADEMI and HAVA host 2nd Annual National Family Day

June 13, 2013

MOYOCK, N.C. -- ACADEMI, a leading training and security solutions provider, partnered with Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) to host the 2ndAnnual National Family Day for disabled veterans, active duty military and their families. Attendance doubled from the 1st Annual Family Day, with almost 200 individuals participating at ACADEMI's flagship 7,000 acre facility in Moyock, NC.

James Hickey, Vice President, ACADEMI Security and Professional Services – a combat veteran himself – said, "The HAVA series has energized our staff to contribute to the rebuilding of the lives of the disabled and injured from our military, and over 100 of them volunteered to participate in making certain that the families and warriors alike at this event understood the statement that was being made – that the HAVA/ACADEMI family salutes their service and stands with them in their time of need as they re-build their lives. HAVA volunteers have helped us increasingly appreciate the human side of helping these heroes, and we are already planning some program improvements for next year. We will continue to build this event as the cornerstone of our warrior support program."

The VIP servicemen and women enjoyed a full day with their families on the property, with food, prizes, music, professional shooting demonstrations and range time with ACADEMI's world-class instructors.

The niche security services company was created in 1997 as a premiere provider of training and protective services in high-threat environments.
