An ACADEMI team competed in the 2014 Bushmaster Tarheel 3 Gun Challenge in New Hill, North Carolina on April 5th and 6th 2014. Chris Fleming, a Firearms and Tactics instructor from our Salem, CT facility, Andrew Marocchini, a friend of ACADEMI, and Scott Bennett, ACADEMI Director of Commercial Services from Moyock, NC attended the event. 250 shooters in various divisions participated, and Chris and Andrew competed in the heavy metal class. They engaged targets with a 308 caliber rifle with fixed optics or iron sights, 12 gauge shotguns, and 45 caliber pistols. Shooters had to complete nine stages over two days, shooting targets ranging from 10 feet to 300 yards. When the smoke cleared, Andrew took first place in the division while Chris took third.
